The IDPNC web site has two main levels of users. The general
user can only extract information from the web site, the second level includes users who
can both add and extract data/information from the web site. The latter
users belong to organisations who have been assigned an Organisational
Administrator (OA). The OA administers the organisations user base
and capture of organisational data. The National IDPNC implementation team
are currently facilitating the implementation process in selected government
organisations as illustrated in this Gantt Chart.
The IDPNC web site was developed (amongst other objectives) to improve access to IDP planning data in South Africa, the web site currently has one thousand registered users. Users download between one and two thousand documents a month.
Users are drawn from both the Public and Private Sector:
| The map below provides a spatial
indication of which district and metropolitan councils currently have
registered officials on the Web Site.
|
A breakdown of IDPNC users by sector is provided below.
Private sector users are primarily drawn from planning consultancies,
engineering firms and the banking and mining sectors.

The Gantt chart below indicates the IDPNC implementation/deployment schedule for Line Departments and Municipalities. Dates may change depending on circumstances. The end dates signify the end of the national implementation teams direct involvement but does not signify the end of support from the IDPNC (dplg) to IDPNC users.
